Our community kid of 6-year-old little Angel Arya is suffering from Spinal Muscular (SMA). SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) is a rare genetic neuromuscular disease characterized by the loss of nerve cells that control muscle movement. Arya cannot stand or walk, needs assistance to even sit, has trouble swallowing, passing stools, and sometimes even breathing.

This cute little Angel girl was diagnosed with SMA type 2 (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) when she was a year old at Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi in 2016. Since then every day has been a struggle for her. She has been in ICU care for even normal common cold infections which sometimes turn so critical that it becomes life- threatening. In all honesty, her parents are unsure of etting her back home each time she is hospitalized.

There are three drugs available in the UAE for SMA: Zolgen SMA, Risdiplam, Spinraza. Arya is eligible for all three drugs in the UAE. Zolgensma is a magic one-time drug that starts making the normally absent protein in the body, making the child stronger every day. It is priced at AED 8 Million ( 16 Cr)which is an impossible amount to pay for a normal income family.

Also, Zolgensma is approved for kids who weigh less than 21 kg and Arya currently weighs 19 kg(only in UAE and European Nations). Hence the time window where she is eligible for getting the drug is really short making it incredibly important for us to gather the funds as soon as possible. The Other two drugs are lifetime drugs.

Knowing that there is medicine that can save a child's life and make it better and not being able to get it for your only child made her parents miserable. To save this cute little angel ‘s life, we have started a crowdfunding campaign through Impact Guru and we need your support to reach our target. With every passing day without Zolgensma, Arya’s muscles are wasting away a little more. a little more.
